Dr. Roberto Bandelli

President and Portfolio Manager

Dr. Bandelli founded Wisdom Capital in 2009 and currently leads all the firm’s operational and investment activities. ​He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. During his doctoral program, Dr. Bandelli pioneered applications of mathematical physics and numerical methods to areas of fluid-dynamics and heat transfer. He authored several peer-reviewed publications which appeared in prominent academic journals and received hundreds of citations in scientific literature. He also earned a US patent for conceiving and developing a groundbreaking steel processing technology. Prior to Wisdom Capital, Dr. Bandelli held various roles in investment research and financial advisory at Lehman Brothers, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Lazard and US Steel.



​Kaiqi Wu

Quantitative Analyst


Mr. Wu focuses on asset allocation, portfolio management, and risk management. Prior to Wisdom Capital, he worked for GF Securities and Sinolink Securities where he acquired experience in factor investing and machine learning. Kaiqi earned a B.S. degree in mathematics and a B.S. degree in statistics with highest distinction from the University of Michigan and an M.S. degree in Financial Engineering at Columbia University.



Runkun Xie

Quantitative Analyst

Mr. Xie specializes in computational methods, data analysis and statistical modelling. His prior experience includes asset allocation development, portfolio performance measurement and risk attribution analysis acquired while at Huatai Securities, China International Capital Corporation and Standard & Poor's. Mr. Xie earned a B.S. degree in Financial Engineering from the Central University of Finance & Economics and a M.A. degree in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University.



Dr. Mark Antonio Moustapha Awada, Ph.D.

Board Advisor


​Dr. Awada is currently the Head of Research and Data Science at the Digital, Data, and Design (D^3) Institute of Harvard University, a Research Professor in Theoretical Physics at Florida Atlantic University, and a Visiting Professor at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience. He also lectures in Applied Quantitative Finance and Machine Learning in the Harvard Business Analytics Program at Harvard University. Over his multi-decade career, Dr. Awada founded and headed quantitative trading desks at several financial institutions including Morgan Stanley, Chase Manhattan, BNP Paribas, Dresdner Bank and Balyasny Asset Management. He was also the founder and Managing Partner of Sunofia Advisers, a systematic quantitative hedge fund that invested in equities, volatility, and futures. Dr. Awada holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College and an executive certificate from the Harvard Business Analytics Program.
